Boise Wedding | #MeetTheSniders

The post everyone has been waiting for…WEDDING PICTURES! Our photographer, Annie, was absolutely amazing and gave us so many pictures, it’s been a daunting task going through and picking our favorites. They’re all our favorites! I apologize in advance for the overload of pictures to come. I tried to keep them in an order that makes sense…but no promises. (the following pictures are from Let It Shine Photography)

May Boise Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comOur wedding was May 28th in Boise, Idaho. If you remember, we now live in Louisiana, which means all of this planning was done long distance! Boise is where we met and lived for 7 years and we miss it every day, so we wanted to show it off to our friends and family. With so many guests coming from out of town, we wanted a venue that really showcased Boise and why we fell in love with it. It was an obvious decision to have a rooftop wedding downtown at The Owyhee Building.

I told her she needs to start doing this on the side, because we received multiple compliments on our invites. Another friend getting married even asked me where I bought my programs from because she wanted to copy them!

DIY program fans. Because outside weddings get HOT.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comYou see that flower there? Yeah…my mom did all the reception flowers herself! She bought the peonies in bulk from a peony farm in Washington, drove with them to Boise, then babied them for two days by keeping their hotel room like a freezer. She then put together all of the centerpieces in vases she had accumulated over the year long engagement and set up the rest of the reception displays. I was the most spoiled bride ever…I literally did nothing!

The reception tables had pictures of Matt and I through the years and had “Kissing Menus”, with different tasks the guests had to perform if they wanted us to kiss. No glass clinking!

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.com May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comFor our bridal flowers, we used Boise At Its Best Flowers. I didn’t give them much to go off of (“umm I like peonies and want it to be pretty?”) and they far exceeded my expectations! I was so sad we had to fly back to Louisiana and couldn’t take my bouquet home with me.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.com May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comIt was so perfect that The Owyhee had a room available for all us girls to get ready in (aka store all our crap belongings). My former hairdresser Vanessa came to do all our hair and was fabulous, as always! The morning was spent with dance party tunes, mimosa after mimosa, and so much laughter.

My dad and I decided we wanted a first look of our own.

I was actually really nervous about dress shopping. My sister is an opinionated fashion expert, I’m the most indecisive person in the world, and my mom can’t stand our bickering…I anticipated the worst. Everyone talks about that moment when you “just know” you’ve found the dress, and as cliché as it sounds, that is exactly what happened! We found the dress at LuLu’s in Dallas and I was absolutely in love. Shopping crisis averted!

Oh yeah, those are Kate Spade Keds. I’m in love with them too!

Now we can’t forget about the boys! While us girls celebrated with a Bachelorette Party in New Orleans the month before, the guys all flew into Boise early and golfed for days on end. They were split into teams and competed against each other in the Snider Cup, with the winners getting first choice in their crazy ceremony socks.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comMay Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comWhen it comes to the wedding party, we had the best of the best. The maid of honor and best man were my sister and Matt’s brother, and the rest of the group were friends from all different times in our lives. I let the girls pick our their own dresses and actually didn’t even see them all together until the day of! I wasn’t worried though, I knew it would work out perfectly.

Kelly’s just the cutest 🙂

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comTalking about it after the fact, we realized we have quite the brainiacs as well! Between us all we have 4 masters degrees (with another in progress) and 11 bachelors degrees (with one more finishing in December). Cute AND smart! Not to mention hilarious. I don’t think I stopped laughing the entire weekend. We love them all so much!

I’ve watched her grow up since she was just a few months old and I loved having her be a part of our special day.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comMay Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comNone of this day would have been possible though without our wonderful parents and families. To making decorations, set up and tear down, the rehearsal dinner and all the showers…not to mention raising us and supporting us through every aspect of life thus far, ya know, the important stuff.May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.com

Matt’s grandmother made the trip from Seattle for the big day. That dress she’s wearing? It’s the same one she wore to his parent’s wedding. How cute is that?!

Fun fact: I fit my dress into a carry on size suitcase. Yep…bet you didn’t think about that when I said we were flying in for the wedding! It was surprisingly easier than I imagined. And I didn’t let it out of my sight the entire travel day. I forgot to iron my veil though, so that’s why it is only in this one picture.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comMay Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comMay Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comOur photographer Annie did such a great job of creating a timeline of all the pictures we needed and their locations…nothing felt rushed at all! Oh and she was like 8 months pregnant and was a complete champ.

The week before our wedding it was in the 50’s and raining. The week after our wedding it was 95. But our wedding day? Sunny and 75. Absolutely perfect!

Post Ceremony elevator selfie! Ellen’s got nothin’ on us

Well you know what they say, something will go wrong at every wedding. Lucky (?) for me, it happened about two weeks before the wedding. The venue we chose had an in house restaurant that we were required to use as our caterers. Until some major drama happened and they were kicked out of the building, leaving me with 2 weeks to find a new caterer. And I’m in Louisiana. A few tears were shed (sorry coworkers!) but in the end it worked out even better than we could have planned. We actually ended up saving money AND 3 Girls Catering did such an amazing job! They literally saved the day and I will recommend them to everyone.

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comWe moved everyone downstairs into the ballroom for dinner and toasts, which were of course hilarious and embarrassing. Mostly just for me though, I’m not sure why no one felt the need to tell stories about Matt…

We had three cake flavors (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) and I was in love with the way the cake turned out. I only wish I’d gotten to eat more than the one bite, because that one bite was delicious!

We had pictures of our parents and grandparents from their wedding day all along our cake table

We then brought everyone back up to the roof to dance the night away. Our Dj was Adam from Directly Driven Sound Production who did a fantastic job of coordinating all this movement of guests and kept the dance floor packed literally the entire night. We actually extended our reception by 30 minutes because no one was ready to leave yet!

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comMay Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comAt one point Annie ran up to me saying “Stephanie! Do you know all the guys are smoking cigars on the roof?! …can I take pictures of that??”

May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.com May Boise, Idaho Wedding, Owyhee Plaza | longdistancebaking.comAnother hilarious part of the reception is that our Dj brought along a go pro. He actually had it the entire day, so we were able to go back and watch our first look. the ceremony and had guests leave us messages during dinner. We laughed so hard watching it! As you can see…guests went a little crazy with it on the dance floor. I only wish we knew what songs were playing during these pictures! Oh yeah…and we had glow sticks.

Everything went even more perfect that I could have imagined and I loved every second of it. The next day we were already asking “is it too soon to renew our vows so we can throw another party like this?”. It was one of the best days ever and we couldn’t be happier. Now I just need to get myself down to the social security office to finally change my name…to Mrs. Snider.
