Cookies and Cream Cupcakes w/Chocolate Frosting

Happy Cupcake Week! Today’s cupcake is a yummy Cookies and Cream cupcake w/chocolate frosting because who doesn’t love Oreos and chocolate?!?!

My family is full of choco-holics so I knew I would need to bake at least one batch of cupcakes involving chocolate but I wanted to spice it up a bit. Chocolate cupcakes just seemed too boring to me. Plus, I’ve made chocolate cupcakes in the past and I have never liked them so I was hesitant to try them again. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like chocolate cupcakes but they just never seem to quite turn out the way I like when I bake them. Oh well, I’ve found a new chocolate-y cupcake that I like even more!

Incorporating Oreos seemed like the logical thing to add to give the cupcake a little extra umph. And paired with the chocolate frosting, delish! These cupcakes are perfect if you want that chocolate fix but don’t want to go overboard. They will definitely cure any chocolate craving!

The best part about making these cupcakes is that you get to snack on Oreos while you bake them. Not that I did that or anything 😉 Hope you enjoy!

Directions:

  1. Make Classic Vanilla Cupcakes and add a roll (or more!) of crushed Oreos to the batter.
  2. Bake according to directions.
  3. For the frosting, add 1 tbls + 1 tsp of cocoa powder. For more chocolate-y frosting, add more cocoa powder.
  4. Frost and enjoy!
