Together At Last

For the first time since starting this blog…Kelly and I were together! And we’d been practically counting down the days. We had a list a mile long of things to do! Such as: go running, go to hot yoga, shop, bake, maybe do a video post?, coffee date, drink wine, look at Christmas lights…it goes on. Want to know how many of those things got done? Two. Starbucks and wine. Pretty typical if you ask me! Granted it was mostly my fault as I was only in town roughly 48 hours (though if we ever actually work out while we’re together it’s a miracle).

So what did  we do together? Super exciting things! Like breakfast at Cassidy’s (almost not the same as Breakfast At Tiffany’s), working on logo design options for LDB, sitting in Kelly’s bed watching Friday Night Lights and planning our vacation for her birthday (Portland, Oregon vs Stagecoach Music Festival…anyone have advice?!), and last but most definitely not least: Jenny and Adam’s wedding! The bride Jenny went to high school with Kelly and my boyfriend Matt, so I was a bit of a tagalong on this adventure. But I’ve gotten to know this group of friends pretty well over the years and was beyond excited. The wedding was at the Sequoia Mansion in Placerville, California and it was the perfect night (pardon the pixel-y iPhone photos!).

I believe our “About” section mentions a love of weddings…but I’m not sure you guys really understand the extent of this love. Neither of us are even engaged, but between my own and Kelly’s Pinterest boards we’re pushing 1000 wedding pins. This was my fourth wedding I’ve attended…just this calendar year (there were at least four in 2012 too) and I already know of potentially two more in 2014! Besides seeing our gorgeous bride Jenny walk down the aisle, we wanted to share our favorite things about weddings (in no particular order)

Stephanie’s Favorites
-Getting dressed up. I almost always use weddings as an excuse to go shopping! It’s so fun to see everyone looking like fashionable young adults!
-The bride’s dress. Even if it’s not something I would wear, they are always gorgeous and make every bride look beautiful
-Slideshows. I know they’re cheesy, but it’s fun to see the bride and groom as kids! Especially if I don’t know one or the other very well, it gives  a little glimpse into their personalities. Plus I love pictures
-Father Daughter dances (even though I always cry my eyes out)

Kelly’s Favorites
-The bride’s dress. Even one has such a distinct and personal style when it comes to weddings so it’s always fun to see what the bride is wearing. And it gives you more ideas for your own dress!
-The venue. Finding the venue is hard but the right venue can transform a wedding and makes decorating for a wedding even easier. There was so much charm and character in mansion where Adam and Jenny got married! I absolutely loved it!
-Father/Daughter Dance. There is something so sweet about a bride and her dad on her wedding day.

What is your favorite part of weddings?? Hopefully we’ll be together again soon…but until then, we’ll keep baking and simultaneously planning our imaginary future weddings.
