Winc Wine Club Review

If you know us at all, you know here at LDB we love our wine. Thats not to say we are wine snobs by any means, nor do we fully understand all the nuances and complexities each wine offers, but we love drinking wine. And that’s what really matters, right?

So when Winc approached us and asked if we wanted to partner with them, the answer was an obvious YES PLEASE and when can we start.

We had seen ads for Winc on social media before, but had never really looked into the company. This video here explains the reasoning behind the company (and if it doesn’t make you want to become a winemaker or vineyard owner…I don’t know what will).

At its most basic level, Winc is a monthly (ish) wine club. They will send you 4 bottles of wine and you choose how many bottles of red vs white wine you would like. Steph chose 3:1 reds over whites and Kelly did a 2:2. We’ve actually been wine tasting a few times together and our wine tastes are pretty different, so it was fun to see what wines Winc paired us each up with (we only got one of the same wines! A Chop Shop Cabernet).

When you first start your Winc account, there is a short survey that asks your preferences on a few different flavors such as coffee, citrus and salt. This creates your “palate profile” and helps them choose what wines you will be receiving. Alternatively, if you consider yourself a wine connoisseur (aka Steph’s brother in law) you can actually choose wines for yourself from their huge selection. Bottles start at $13 each, which for the quality and the convince of delivery…is a pretty good price to me.

The only issue we foresaw and have had with other wine deliveries is that someone 21+ has to be home to sign for the package. Considering a lot of people have 9-5 jobs and won’t be home during the day, this can pose a problem. Thankfully, Winc mentioned that you can simply have your package delivered to your local Fedex store and pick it up there! Which is what Steph did and was so easy (Kelly is still working hard on Milkhouse Shakes and was able to simply have hers delivered directly). Crisis averted.

As previously mentioned we are NOT wine connoisseurs at all (though we have watched Somm on Netflix) and not super picky, so we loved all the wines we were given! There is an option to rate each wine you received on your Winc account and leave comments, which will help them in choosing your future wines. We also mentioned it is a monthly-ish club…from your account you can easily choose to skip months and only receive a box when you are ready for another.

Because we loved the fun and surprise of a wine delivery straight to our door, we wanted to share the experience with you! By following the link here you will be able to receive $22 off your first order with Winc, bringing the price down to roughly $7.50 per bottle!  ( there are no shipping charges as long as you purchase 4 bottles). Plus you can cancel at any time (over telephone, which if you didn’t know, Steph absolutely HATES talking to people on the phone, but for the rest of you this shouldn’t be a problem).

We hope you will give this a try! Though sorry in advance to all our Utah relatives and anyone living in  Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Rhode Island: your liquor laws are too strict! Maybe some day you will be able to participate.

Cheers!
