Chobani’s #BreakYouMake

Have you heard of Chobani’s #BreakYouMake campaign? Turns out we Americans do not take daily breaks, breaks we need to refuel and recharge. Think about it, when was the last time you really stepped away from your desk, turned off your phone, ignored your email and just enjoyed a mini break? I say it’s time we change that! So thank you, Chobani, for introducing the #BreakYouMake. America, let’s take more breaks!

Chobani is challenging everybody to nominate a person in their life for #BreakYouMake Day (which was Wednesday, June 3). You mean, we can’t chose ourselves?! Just kidding…. I think everyone deserves a break when they need one but the one person that immediately comes to mind: my mom <3 Brace yourselves, it’s gonna get sappy…

Bunny
Hi, guys! This is my mom Bunny. Yes, we call her Bunny. Her birth name is Ellen but around family and friends (even all my friends) she has always been Bunny. In fact, my cousin and I have decided that our children will one day call her G-Bunny aka Grandma Bunny.

Anyway, enough about her name. Here is why I nominate my mom for #BreakYouMake:

• She is an elementary school teacher and works incredibly hard for her students. She will show up early, skip her lunch or even stay late to help her students. She deals with difficult parents who believe their child is as perfect as Jesus and can do no wrong, when in fact, they most certainly are not perfect. She’s focused and determined and an all-around awesome teacher! Yes, I am biased but I’m 100% right about this.
• She is always looking out for her children and wanting to do nice things for us. Just last night she called me to tell me there was a sale on a Fiestaware knife set and she bought it for me because I collect Fiestaware. I love the brightly colored dishes!
• She is immensely supportive. Except when I wanted to get a tattoo for  my 24th birthday in Portland, which I ended up not doing and still haven’t done…
• She is super cool! People always say I remind them of my mom or that I look like her or that I sound like and that is the biggest compliment ever!!

So, thank you mom for being so awesome! I love you and I hope you enjoy your well deserved break! Now I am going to take one and eat a delicious Chobani Flip… I just need to decide what flavor!
