Proof 2016 went too fast: we’re halfway through January and we’re just posting our top recipes from last year! But better late than never, right? It’s always interesting for us to see what posts were the most popular. Some of these aren’t even from 2016! Take a look and let us know what new recipes you’d like to see in the upcoming year!

Happy New Year, friends!
“It’s always better to give than to receive”. While the saying may be cliche, we fully agree! Christmas is our favorite time of the year and half the fun is buying or making gifts for our friends and family! We’ve compiled a list of our …
When Kelly and I did our Whole30 adventure, I was worried I was going to miss cheese. I love cheese. I love ritz crackers with cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs with goat cheese, a bagel slathered in cream cheese, a thick chunk of fresh mozzarella on …
It’s once again time for the #VirtualPumpkinParty put on by Sara at Cake Over Steak and Aimee from Twigg Studio. If you remember from last year, a huge group of bloggers all posted pumpkin recipes on the same day and we had so much fun, we’re doing it again! Our previous creations were Pumpkin Pancakes and Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream, but today I bring you Layered Pumpkin Cheesecake.
Now I love cheesecake just as much as the next person, but for some reason I often forget it exists. Is that weird? I rarely get dessert when we go out for dinner and I’ve heard horror stories of making your own (except for no-bake!), so unless I’m at the Cheesecake Factory I’m probably never going to be caught eating it.
Don’t let my bad habits rub off on you though! I promise this recipe is a piece of (cheese)cake. I decided to use a homemade graham cracker crust and a springform pan for a more traditional cheesecake look, but feel free to use a store-bought crust instead. It will be equally as delicious.
By now everyone knows we have a slight obsession with fall, but this fall is even more special. Becauusseee….I’m moving back to Idaho! Actually, have already moved back. Since the last time I posted to now we’ve already packed up the house and drove across the country. It was incredibly quick! But we are beyond excited to be back in Boise.
I plan on embracing the few weeks of fall I have left wholeheartedly! So I think that means this cheesecake will be making an appearance again soon. Be sure to check out all of the other #VirtualPumpkinParty recipes by searching this hashtag on social media or scrolling to the bottom of this post!

The post everyone has been waiting for…WEDDING PICTURES! Our photographer, Annie, was absolutely amazing and gave us so many pictures, it’s been a daunting task going through and picking our favorites. They’re all our favorites! I apologize in advance for the overload of pictures to come. …
Before I’d moved to Louisiana, the furthest south I’d ever been was Washington, D.C. Does that count!? Is D.C. even considered to be in the South?? Now that we’re down here, we plan on making the most of our time in a new area and …
If you read Kelly’s post on Friday, you’ll have heard about Chobani’s #BreakYouMake campaign. It should come as no surprise that we as Americans have a “go go go” mentality and tend to forget to take some time for ourselves to step back and take a breather.
Chobani wants us all to nominate someone in our life this month who deserves a break. I don’t know about you, but my favorite breaks involve food, and what better time to try a Chobani Flip! I mean…Almond Coco Loco? Yes please! While I think all of us could really use a break, I decided to focus on my sister Cassie.
While Cassie is my younger sister and I like to take credit in teaching her everything she knows, I could learn a thing or two from her organizational skills. Her closet is organized by sleeve length, and she has a formula for what type of shirt to wear depending on the weather forecast. You know, like if it’s 75-85 degrees that is a t-shirt, but over 85 is a tank top…the usual kind of closet layout. She also has To-Do lists that often contain making other lists on them. She actually used to get into trouble by my parents because when questioned as to why she hadn’t done X, Y or Z like they asked she’d respond “Well it’s on my list, I just haven’t gotten to it yet”.
Now I think the majority of her lists are Excel Spreadsheets, which is even more ridiculous/impressive. When choosing a college, she had a spreadsheet of schools and their deciding factors, like price, size, distance from home, etc. And if she doesn’t have anything for herself to plan and organize? She’ll do it for you. Like her college roommate, who she spent hours researching nursing schools for her to apply for. Or me, finding potential houses for us to look at in our new town. It’s partly because of this attention to detail that I chose her to be my Maid of Honor. Oh, and because she’s my only sister 😉
In addition to her excessive planning, Cassie also works full-time, teaches fitness classes, is building her dream as a personal stylist (Style By Cassie) and has just started her campaign to compete for Miss Idaho in this year’s Miss USA program. Yeah…she needs a break for sure!
What’s funny is when we were both home last weekend our mom broke her toe (by dropping a toilet on her foot while remodeling their new rental property, because she doesn’t have enough work at home or the cabin…) and was still hobbling around trying to get things done. Cassie and I looked at each other and realized…this is why we don’t know how to relax. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with working hard to accomplish your goals and help others, it is important to take some time for yourself so you don’t get burnt out.
And with that, Cassie, as your older, wiser, more mature and always right sister, I’m telling you to take 15 minutes for yourself today. No planning, no multitasking. Just you! Because as always, sister knows best 😉

Originally I had a road trip planned this spring to travel from Boise to Phoenix for a friend’s wedding, stopping at places like Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Sedona along the way. Well…then my boyfriend (at the time) got a new job, we got …
